Breaking: Family Bonds Could Be Lifeline Against India's Silent Suicide Epidemic

A recent comprehensive study has shed light on the alarming prevalence of mental health challenges among the surveyed population. The research uncovered that approximately 12.3% of participants—or more than one in ten individuals—experienced suicidal thoughts within the past year. Even more concerning, 5.2% of respondents reported having attempted suicide, while 12.2% disclosed engaging in non-suicidal self-injury.
These striking statistics underscore the critical importance of mental health awareness, support systems, and targeted interventions to address the underlying psychological distress that can lead to such profound emotional struggles.
